ABS is good! . . . .....sometimes

The ABS systems on the BMW bikes are great! I recommend them to everyone interested in purchasing a BMW.

There are times when turning the ABS system off on an R 1200 GS is important.. such as riding in the dirt. For example:

S 1000 RR scores no points in Kyalami! :(

What an unsatisfactory weekend for the BMW World Superbike team. Xaus retired from both races and Steve Martin, the voice we normally hear correcting Johnathan Green's commentating during every round of WSBK, stepped in for Troy Corser. Martin only could muster up a 22nd place finish in race 1, and slightly better 18th place in race two.

I hope Xaus doesn't start his normal trend spending more time rolling around in the dirt than on the track. I hope Corser is all healed up and ready to take a spot on the podium! I can't even imagine what it would feel like to have a bike bounce off of the back of your head / back.

Utah in two weeks! It will be good racing as usual! I can't wait!

May madness

With May now here, we are seeing the effects of the summer riding season coming into full swing! Everyone is out and riding in the warm weather. It's great to see all the bikes on the road once again.

The big news for May is official unveiling of the S 1000 RR at the Monza round of the World Superbike circus. I can safely say that we are all excited to see this bike arrive! With that, there's a nifty
43 page document with all the bike specs. Very good stuff indeed. Makes me want to be first in line to receive the bike, however there already is a waiting list that's growing everyday!
